SANDPOINT KIWANIS WELCOMES YOU
WHO WE ARE
In 1964, the Kiwanis accepted the deed and responsibilities for Camp Stidwell, 159 acres on the SE side of Mirror Lake, with 2000' lakefront and insulated on all sides by U.S. Forest Service land. It was named for Charlie Stidwell, a long time resident, teacher, principal of Farmin School and Boy Scout Master. The camp, a gift from those citizens in 1947, who realized its' importance and value - a gift to future generations.
Over 70 years later, the single stipulation on that historic deed,
"It is the hope of the grantor that the grantee shall manage and maintain the property as a public park devoted primarily to the benefit of Bonner County youth groups and associations"
is honored and holds true.
OUR YOUTH IN ACTION
A well informed community is an empowered one as well, so take a look at some exciting recent presentations made to the Sandpoint Kiwanis, as well as some of the activities theses kids are involved in to keep us inspired and current. It's a whole new world and these kids are leaders and leaders in the making.

Sandpoint Kiwanis charters Boy Scout Troop 111, who served as Grand Marshall in the July 4th Independence Day Parade in Sandpoint.
Troop 111 has had a busy and productive year!
Scouts have attended the National Youth Leadership Conference, winter camped at Camp Stidwell, pitched in with enthusiasm on Camp Stidwell Clean Up Day, rafted the Lochsa River, hiked the Seven Devils and earned multiple Eagle Scout Awards, just to name a few of their accomplishments.

A New Camp and a lot of help
Anonymous donors, local charitable organizations and corporate grants have made so many improvements possible in 2019, and we are grateful.
Donations and grants came from Burlington Northern Santa Fe, The Community Action League and McFarland Pole Company to name a few.

Sandpoint Kiwanis are dedicated to helping our local youth. One of the key ingredients to making that aid effective involves educating ourselves as to the challenges and opportunities our young people face. Times are changing, products are changing and employment is changing in this technologically expansive time.

A couple of hours a week can make a world of difference.
We meet Mondays at noon at the Columbia Bank Building (on Church Street, between 4th and 5th in Sandpoint), in the ground floor meeting room, with a delicious lunch available from Tango Cafe.
